It is a classic shoot'em up train robbery that ends with a gun being fired directly into the camera. An event that caused quite a stir in the 1903 audience, with people never having seen a movie before.....ducking for cover and their lives under their benches! This first Western was filmed in Sunny New Jersey by Thomas Edison's manufacturing company.
